The Process
Before a single piece of material is ever cut, I build your cabinets first — digitally. Using CNC design software, I create a detailed rendering of your project so you can see exactly what you're getting: layout, dimensions, finishes, and design details, all mapped out ahead of time. This step lets you review the design, ask questions, and request changes before anything hits the shop floor, so there are no surprises and no guesswork. Once you're happy with the plan and everything is dialed in, I can move into production using our CNC machine to cut every piece with precision and consistency. It's a process that saves time, reduces errors, and most importantly, makes sure the final product matches exactly what you had in mind from the start.

At JM Custom Wood Works, I believe good cabinetry is in the details — and there are more of them than most people realize. What looks like a simple cabinet is actually built from many individual pieces: the frame, doors, drawer boxes, shelves, panels, and all the hardware that makes everything function smoothly. Each piece is measured, cut, sanded, and fitted by hand before it's all assembled into the finished product. It's a slower process than mass-produced cabinetry, and it takes more time and attention, but that's exactly the point — it's how I make sure every corner is square, every door and drawer opens the way it should, and the final piece holds up for years to come. When you work with me, you're not just getting a cabinet off a shelf; you're getting something built specifically for your home, with real craftsmanship and care put into every single step along the way.
